Solo, But Not Alone

authentic leadership self business creating and making change life design mindset shift Mar 12, 2025
A “solopreneur” is an entrepreneur who does everything - operations, management, service and product delivery, troubleshooting the printer, and occasionally talking to themselves to walk through a problem, call out pros and cons for clearer decision-making. Don't judge - it can be quite effective. 🤩

So far, check to all of the above (and then some).

It’s a title that suggests independence, yes - but also isolation. Is it any surprise. Wordmetrics.org Entrepreneur Burnout Report of 2024 found 60% of entrepreneurs are at high risk for burnout (solo or otherwise) and 46% grapple with loneliness or isolation. Why? Two main contributors:
  • Absence of a peer network
  • Relentless pressure of daily decision-making
Enter my personal perception - being called a solopreneur conjures a feeling of “all alone”, buying into the all-too-real statistic that isolation accompanies being an entrepreneur. And while occasionally working in my 'athletic apparel' has its perks, I don’t love the misconception that being a solopreneur is a ‘one-woman show’.

I coach entrepreneurs, and a core part of building their business systems is assembling a strategic team - or what I call their personal cabinet. This isn’t about delegating tasks; it’s about creating meaningful connections, exchanging ideas, expanding opportunities, and building a thriving ecosystem that fuels growth.

The entrepreneurs I work with aren’t just business owners - they’re audacious leaders, mavericks who know success isn’t a solo journey. With their personal cabinet and me as their thinking partner (aka coach), they navigate challenges, scale with intention, and build something bigger than themselves - without sacrificing the freedom that drew them to entrepreneurship in the first place.

So, who’s in your personal cabinet
Whether you’re building a business or designing a new life, the same principle applies
 - you don’t have to create meaningful change solo

I get it, we’re playing with semantics. But words shape identity, and solopreneur implies doing it all alone, while entrepreneur speaks to something bigger - growth, hiring, scaling (something a solopreneur works “up to” if you choose). Growth is where my focus is, and quite honestly every entrepreneur I work with.

I’m not just here to help high-achievers turn life transitions into launchpads - I’m building a business that makes that transformation possible for thousands of people. Helping them reclaim their vision, take bold action, and elevate their life and business beyond their wildest dreams.

And the beauty of modern entrepreneurship?
  • Freedom. I don’t have to sacrifice autonomy, flexibility, or creativity to do it.
  • Personal design with profit. I can have a four-day work week while increasing my productivity and profit.
  • Technology, automation, and smart delegation make it possible to scale without slipping into corporate bureaucracy.
  • Collaborating and networking with other entrepreneurs to share and expand resources (and increase accessibility).
  • Agile business structure and systems. My business is adaptable and flexible to be responsive to and stay aligned with the changing market conditions.
  • Control of my personal brand. I get to manage my online presence and reputation as an entrepreneur.
  • Data-driven decision making. You know I LOVE data as much as I LOVE coaching, I look at the evidence, I use analytics and insights to guide my business strategy.🙌

So no, I don’t identify as a solopreneur. I see myself as a CEO—building something bigger than myself while still holding on to the freedom and autonomy that made me want to work for myself in the first place. Yes, I call my own shots, I make my own rules, and the success of this business depends on me, but I do not feel alone because I have a fierce, powerhouse cabinet.

What about you?
More important than the semantics, beyond what you call yourself - do you feel truly supported as you build your business?

Because calling your own shots and making your own rules doesn’t mean doing it alone.
If you’re ready to build your personal cabinet, scale with intention, and create a business that gives you both freedom and growth - I’m here for it. I'm here for you!
