Power Up, Piss Off or Just Take A Break

“I'm hitting that exhaustion wall which can intensify my fear of failure.”

My client had been working through a goal that had the potential to grow her business. Achieving this goal meant creating high-profile clients.

She's ambitious, high-achieving with accolades and an esteemed reputation while working in her 20+ years corporate career. Understanding how this marketing project would make her stand out and what that entailed also meant working through the fear of failure to become more visible, take up more space, and stretch her voice in new and creative ways.

Sound familiar?

She was willing to feel uncomfortable, feel the fear to build her dream business. She acknowledged the fear when it came up and together, we worked through ways to deal with the fear energetically and ensure fear wasn’t making her decisions for her - meaning she was in control of her thoughts and emotions.

She had completed everything except the last core part of the project, the video release. I asked her what one action would you like to take to expand your comfort zone in preparation. In her most confident truth and stunning self-awareness, she responded:
“Honestly, I think my brain needs a break. I'm hitting that exhaustion wall which can intensify my fear of failure.”

Yes! Taking a break is taking action.

The action to take is not always to “power up” or “piss off”- walk away.
Sometimes taking a break keeps the momentum going. Taking a break can release you from ‘all or nothing’ thinking - pushing through or so exhausted you walk away. There is another option. The option to take a breath, a break.

My client did just that. She designed a small break and celebrated the action she was taking and came back clearer and stronger to cross the finish line. She has created a high profile client and one is waiting in the wings. She loves her new marketing approach and the new level of success that she created.

Here's to taking a break and celebrating the momentum it creates!
