Analog Adventures and Letting Go

business lasting transformation life design mindset shift Jul 28, 2025
This week, I'm on an unexpected adventure.

Jury duty.
No phone. No laptop. No digital anything.

Yep. I’m typing this in advance, knowing I’ll be going dark. 😳

Which is not unusual for me because I choose to unplug sometimes.
I believe in slow mornings, screen-free hours, and off-the-grid weekends.

But this? This isn't that.

This is a week full of regularly scheduled calls with clients I love working with, exciting leadership conversations, strategy sessions, and all the business momentum I’ve been building and I’ll be stepping away from all of it. No Zoom. No Slack. No behind-the-scenes planning.
Just a courtroom bench and a notepad, preferably with very sharp pencils.

And I’m being asked (told) to move through it without my “electronical-portable devices", aka no access to the world beyond my courtroom tribe.

This may surprise you but… it feels a little off.
Like I’m glitching out of the matrix.

It made me think of the days when news didn’t scroll endlessly at the bottom of your screen but instead arrived with a dramatic voiceover:

“We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming…”

We used to get updates, now we get overload.
We used to make plans, now we ping.
We used to wait, now we refresh.

Things change.
And sometimes, we don’t notice how much until we’re suddenly disconnected or in my case, told ‘not allowed’.

This unplanned ‘analog adventure’ has me thinking about more than just giving it a go without tech for a day or two (possibly a week but I'm not going there yet) but how tightly I cling to it all.

And what I might be ready to let go of.
Not just devices, but beliefs. Patterns. Pressure. Pace.

I'm a firm believer letting go means making space for something new.

So, while I'm waiting for my name to be called, I’ll be thinking about what I want to make space for in the rest of 2025.

Thinking in advance about this next week and taking a short break from my usually scheduled pings, clicks, and swipes.
While I still have connectivity, I'm still tuning into you and curious:

What’s something you’ve been holding onto that you might be ready to release?

What could shift if you gave yourself just a little more room to breathe, pause, or unplug?

Let me know. Send me a DM or quick email...
I may be getting back to you a little later than usual, but I’ll be so glad to know your thoughts are waiting for me when I plug back in.

Cheering YOU on from my analog adventure.
